🧪 Bonus Lab: "Hearing Age" Test (just for fun) — Mosquito Tone

A playful corner that estimates your "hearing age" based on how high a pitch (mosquito tone) you can hear.

Back to soundcheck main (speaker & earphone test)

🎉 Everything past this point is just for fun / reference. It is not a medical hearing test.
Results depend heavily on your speaker or earphone quality, volume settings, ambient noise, and individual differences. Not hearing a tone doesn't mean anything is wrong with your ears or your speaker. Enjoy it as a bit of trivia.

① Mosquito-Tone Course (with a hearing-age estimate)

Plays a series of increasingly high tones automatically, from 8kHz up to 19kHz. Just answer "did you hear it?" after each one, and at the end you'll get a rough estimate of the highest tone you could hear. Earphones are recommended (built-in speakers vary a lot in how well they reproduce high frequencies).

🔉 High tones can feel piercing, so turn your volume down a bit before starting.

Pressing this plays tones automatically. Answer whether you heard each one.

For a proper check of your speaker or earphones, see soundcheck main's ① L/R check, ② volume test, and ③ frequency test. To check your microphone (input), see our sister site micsound.
